Personality Bio

Born in Denver. Grew up in Detroit.

My interest in radio was born in high school when, on a dare, I auditioned for the campus radio station.

My career has taken me to Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, back to Detroit...and this is my second tour of duty here in the G.R.  I joined STAR 105.7 almost three years ago, and what a great ride it's been!  I love what I do, and love the people I do it with.

When I'm not helping you wrap up your work day and get home, I spend my time watching movies, listening to music, taking pictures, cycling, and playing on my computer (a Mac of course!).

We have a blended family with five kids, ranging from 21 to 10...involved in everything from the Navy, to singing and acting, to cheerleading and gymnastics.  Mom's Taxi is in full-time service around our place.

We live in the beautiful orchard country northwest of Grand Rapids.

Right now I'm.....

...really eager to get back on my bike.  Got lbs to lose!

...totally hooked on Burn Notice and Eleventh Hour on TV.

...still reveling over Slumdog Millionaire.  What a great film!

...eagerly anticipating the release of:  The Soloist.

...Trying to teach myself to play guitar.  My fingers hurt!

Sonic comes to Grand Rapids

When we lived down south, one of our favorite places to eat out was Sonic.  We missed it really badly when we moved back to Michigan - and the kids would always beg to stop there on our way to and from Florida on Spring Break.  Well, at long last, we now have one right here in our own backyard!

Here are some pics from my quick stop this morning to grab an Orange Creme Slush!  54th and Clyde Park is where you can get one of your own.  And don't forget about the world famous foot long chili cheese coney dog!

More Sonic pics here.

Boyle Bowls Over Cowell

It's not often you see Simon Cowell smile, but he was beaming as he listened to Susan Boyle, a 47 year old British charity worker who appeared on this weekend's Britain's Got Talent show.

Check out the clip.

Spring Cleaning Tips

Spring is in the air, and so is the smell of cleaning agents! Here are few cleaning tips using ordinary household items:

* Cola removes toilet bowl stains.

* Denture tablets have an extra bleaching agent that also removes stains.

* Ketchup's acidity removes tarnish from copper pots.

* Olive oil cleans lacquered metal.

* Rubbing alcohol polishes chrome, disinfects phones and doorknobs, and aids in removing fresh ink or marker from carpet or fabrics.

* Toothpaste with baking soda polishes chrome, jewelry, and can remove stains from walls.

* White vinegar is a wonder liquid with many uses - it's a great glass and window cleaner, takes stains out of carpets, and is also great for removing salt stains on shoes.

* Worcestershire sauce is not only good on steaks, it can also hide scratches in some wooden furniture.

* Coffee grounds absorb odors.

* Baby wipes remove crayon, heel marks, make-up smudges...oh yeah, and baby 'stuff'.

Happy cleaning!

That BITES!

I'm a cyclist, and now that Spring is in the air, I'm back on my bike.  Imagine riding in Florida and coming across this little 'obstacle' on your route!

I think I'd take my chances with the vehicle!

Fox on Optimism

Imagine: your career is suddenly cut short by illness. You can no longer do your life's work and what you love to do.  You'd have every reason in the world to be depressed and become pessimistic, right?

Wrong.

So says Michael J. Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease a decade ago, all but ending his acting career.  The last ten years of his life have actually been the happiest, he says.

He'll be exploring Optimism in "Michael J. Fox: Adventures of An Incurable Optimist"  which airs on ABC on May 7th.
