After-Church Stew

Got this recipe from my FAVORITE cookbook! House Specialties! I've kind of tweaked it to how my family likes it. You can cook it in the oven if you don't have a crock pot. And...you don't have to only make it after church. You can make it any day of the week!

Best Banana Cake

recipe courtesy of Rhonda J.

(From Rhonda J...) This is one of, (if not) the BEST banana cake I have ever tasted! I thought the oven temp of 275° sounded a little low, but this cake baked up (and rose) beautifully in my oven at this temp after pretty much exactly one hour. I do not know if the little "freezer trick" to this recipe is what ensured its moistness or not, but I did it, and it was exceptionally moist & delicious. A dense cake, similar in texture to a carrot cake. It got better each day it sat, I always make this cake at least the day before I need or want it. I was extremely pleased with this cake and will be making it over & over again!! (baking time may vary based on individual ovens!)

Food Network - Marybeth's Meatloaf

recipe courtesy of Tommy And Brook

When meatloaf goes wrong, it goes really wrong. When you make this recipe, you'll literally see why panko bread crumbs make a difference. When soaked with buttermilk, panko forms a spongy texture very different from regular bread crumbs. The meatloaf's texture is lighter, yet richer from the thick buttermilk. You can find panko Japanese breadcrumbs in many grocery stores now. The best ingredients always yield the best results. I use top-quality beef, freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano, barbeque sauce I love. The next day, you'll make the best meatloaf sandwiches EVER, the kind of lunch that you take to work and eat by 10:30 am.
