There are tons of programs for kids across West Michigan this weekend.

“Walking with Dinosaurs”, Flick’s Family Film Festival, Celebration! Cinema
Friday, March 28 – Thursday, April 3
Free movie for kids under 12 years old. Adults are $4. Show times will be available on Tuesday evenings the week the movie starts.
“Dream It, Build It” Lego exhibit, Grand Rapids Public Museum
Friday, March 28 – Sunday, March 30
See architectural masterpieces like the Empire State Building and the Gateway Arch -- made entirely out of Legos. Then use your inspiration to build a creation of your own. Included with admission to the museum. Exhibit runs through August 31.
“How People Make Things,” Kalamazoo Valley Museum
Friday, March 28 – Sunday, March 30
Traveling exhibit with free hands-on arts and crafts. Inspired by the factory tour segments from the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood television series. Free admission.
Butterflies are Blooming, Frederik Meijer Gardens
Friday, March 28 – Sunday, March 30
Experience tropical butterflies from around the world as they fly freely in the Tropical Conservatory. Exhibit runs through April 30. Adults are $12, children 5-13 are $6, children 3-4 are $4, children under 3 are free. Members are free. See website for hours.
West Michigan Pet Expo, The DeltaPlex Arena, Walker
Saturday, March 29 & Sunday, March 30
An expo for all things pets! Featuring The Canine Stars, Wild World of Animals, reptile and amphibian exhibit, pony rides, and adopt-a-pet area, and a children’s area. Adults are $10, children ages 5-12 are $5, and children 4 and under are free.
Sprout Program, John Ball Zoo, Grand Rapids
Friday, March 28, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
A great way to introduce your preschooler to the wilds of John Ball Zoo. For 3 & 4 year olds. $20 per person, per class. $18 for members. Register online.
Cabin Fever for Kids: Woodworking, Holland Museum
Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m. to Noon
Look at examples of crafts and try them yourself! Everyone goes home with a project. $15.
Kids Days, Coopersville Farm Museum
Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Crafts and activities for children ages two and up. Rope making, corn shelling, bead table, puppet theater. $3 per person. Members and children ages 3 and under are free.
Ballet in the Library, Hackley Public Library, Muskegon
Saturday, March 29
11 a.m. for ages 3 – 7
11:30 a.m. for ages 8 – 11
Put on the tutus and tiaras and learn about ballet. Kids get an introductory ballet lesson, music, and movement. Free.
The Jungle Book: Mowgli, East Grand Rapids Performing Arts Center
Saturday, March 29 – Sunday, March 30, 3:30 p.m.
The Michigan Ballet Academy performs a unique version of the classic story. Tickets are $16. Order online. Tickets are $2 more at the door.
Orchestra from Planet X, Forest Hills Fine Arts Center
Sunday, March 30, 3 p.m.
A one-hour concert by the Grand Rapids Symphony, with pre-concert activities for kids ages 8-13. Tickets $15 for adults, $9 for children.
